One of our McCabe Educational Trust sponsored volunteers tells us how she has noticed a great change over the last three summers at the Jeel Al Amal Boys Home, and she reveals how crucial it is for the work there to continue.
Jeel al Amal is a school for 300 boys and a home to 100 of them. The McCabe Educational Trust is a major supporter and in the summer of 2008, we teamed up with Unipal to run a summer school. This has been so successful that it has become an annual event.
The volunteers have been amazed at what the staff have achieved there with minimal resources and funding. Our McCabe pilgrims still continue to visit the school and home: it always makes such a difference if the results of the investment can be experienced first hand. It spurs us on to continue our support, whether it’s from individual sponsorship or a united fundraising effort via church or through school.
Rachel Holmes one of our summer volunteers tells us how impressed she was with the progress there. To read more click here
For more than twenty years, the McCabe Educational Trust has been creating partnerships with inspiring people we have met on pilgrimage.
A special Thank You to McCabe pilgrims who helped us raise £142,654 during this autumn contributing to a total of £377,827 raised so far this year!
With your help, we will continue helping those in need we encounter on our travels.
